About St Francis De Sales School
Founded by Fr. Thomas Thoomkuzhy, St. Francis de Sales School, Janakpuri, Delhi was established on April 10, 1978 with 117 students in tents that served as classrooms. The first batch of 61 students wrote their class X board exams in 1984 and the school was upgraded to senior secondary (classes XII-XII) the same year. In April 1982, the school started a Hindi medium section to provide formal academic education in the afternoon hours to children from underprivileged sections of society. The Hindi medium section began with a batch of 50 students enrolled in kindergarten, class I and II. It was extended to class X in 1993 and in 1995 the first batch of class X Hindi medium students wrote the CBSE examination. St. Francis de Sales is a coeducational day school and an unaided, recognized Christian minority private institution affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
